Chalis is a full service advertising agency focused on getting your story told, whether it be a simple brochure design or a multi-media campaign. We're passionate about all forms of advertising and communication and that's just the beginning of the story.

Women in advertising. Dare I go there!
Sometimes I wonder if we've really ever given women in
advertising their due. If we've really ever given thought to just
how fantastically suited we are to this job.
Now at the risk of sounding like an outrageously feminist,
bra-burning bitch (which I'm not) and at the risk of pissing off my
male colleagues and maybe clients (I know you'll forgive me if I
smile sweetly next time I see you), I just want to give some credit
to my female colleagues.
Not only are they amazingly talented, they give new meaning to
the word "multi-tasking". For example the skill to be able to hold
down the job of General Manager, Creative Director, Art Director,
Account Director, Director of New Business Development, Human
Resources Manager, Office Runabout, Psychologist, not to mention
Mother (yes that's just one person) I find quite phenomenal.
Then there's the role of Client Service. It's just right up our
alley. Let's think what's involved in a day's work. Arrive at work.
(That's after you've fed the baby, made school lunches, put the dog
out, dressed the children, had a shower and just managed to put
some makeup on before dropping all the kids off.) First thing in
the office you check the emails, answer 20 of them, after finding
out the answers, take Client calls, whilst answering the emails,
update the work-in progress, have a meeting, take a brief, write a
brief, open a job, no open 6, prepare some estimates, take phone
call from the printers, there's a problem on the press, race out
there, get back in time for another meeting, meanwhile finance is
on your back, it's billing time, where are the jcr's, don't worry
you'll have them by 2pm, just need to get ready for this client
presentation first, that's approved, deadline is in two days, don't
worry I'll just bribe everyone to work overtime, prep for new
business meeting, that runs over, never mind someone else can pick
up the kids. Finally leave the office, get home, kids dinner, kids
homework, kids bath, kids to bed. Husband's dinner, oh washing
first, woops need to unload the dishwasher, check the emails at
home. Oh forgot to feed the dog - almost!
And we're everywhere. We're running Agencies, we're running
Creative Departments, we're running Studios, we're running
Production. And we're bloody good at it.
50 years ago, what did the industry do without us?
Women in advertising. God we're good.
